[ It's much like any ordinary here. They go about their time in the lab, home, rinse and repeat. But today is also somewhat special given that it's Jayce's birthday and he is inclined to try his hand at baking (lord save them) but he also has a backup cake just in case everything goes south. Viktor is thankful to have Rio here because her walks take around an hour, and given the state of him, Jayce is normally the one to do it. So after their tireless efforts in the lab, Viktor will ask Jayce to do the honors with Rio. He may have also bribed her with some treats to stay out a bit longer, just so he could prepare things.

He, meanwhile, will be setting the table for dinner, which will be takeout, again sparing them both his cooking, but this also allows him to focus his efforts on baking. Baking is entirely more complicated than cooking normally. But he does try his best, and when Jayce gets back with Rio, he will be welcomed home to a nice prepared dinner set out on the table. The door will open, and Viktor will come to greet them both. ]

Ah. You're finally back. I hope you both had a nice walk.

[ Jayce likes his walks with Rio. He sees the time with her as a chance to bond with her. She loves Viktor very much, but she was still very much getting used to him. He was fine with her taking her time learning to love him. He loves her very much all the same. She's part of Viktor and he's realizing, slowly, how much he cares for his partner well beyond friendship (odd to think how some sort of comic helped him get here, but he'll take it).

When they walk in, he gives Rio a gentle little pat with a broad smile on his face. ]

We did. She was a perfect angel on her walk, weren't you Rio?

[ He's not really been expecting anything for his birthday. Usually, he keeps things fairly toned down. As long as he does something he enjoys, he's been happy with that. And he enjoys his work in the lab and time with Viktor. ]
